Our Sustainable Vision

Regenerative Agriculture

We envision having hydroelectric-run greenhouses for year-round food production, eco-farming and planting trees, a rainwater catch basin for water storage, using reclaimed wood and composted manure for growing to reduce energy needs.

Community Garden

We envision having plots for community - both connected to SLIC and the extended local community - to grow their own food on the SLIC land with the support of our agriculture specialists. Additionally, SLIC's goal is to produce enough food to donate to the community annually.

Eco Waste Management

We envision mushrooms for waste breakdown as well as composting toilets and greywater systems in place for sanitary and environmentally friendly waste management.

Education

We envision providing education on how to build communities like ours as well as how to build regenerative and sustainable practices into every aspect of living.

Community Center

We envision having a large community building in addition to smaller structures on the SLIC land for community events such as retreats, yoga, a maker space, meditation space, hot spring, and even a rock climbing gym in a silo!

Conservation

We envision partnering to conserve land and natural resources in the San Luis Valley and beyond.
