Volunteering & Current Needs

Currently, as we are still in the beginning of building and growing this community, we are most in need of donors, grant writers, accountants experienced in nonprofits, people who can network and interface with the local community, volunteers for work on the land, and people interested in committing to the community’s growth and development in a variety of ways.

Land Caretaker

Helping to take care of the land with guidance from the Director of Agriculture and Land Use - watering, planting, etc.

Builder

SLIC has a variety of projects that we could use help with for people of all experience levels. Example: sustainable energy grid, community structure, greenhouse, solar-powered housing on the community land.

Grant Writer & Fundraising

In order to fund the structures and energy grid above, SLIC will need help with applications for grants and help for fundraising.

Accountant

SLIC needs an accountant who has experience with non-profits. If you have such experience, please reach out at our email below.

Advisory Board Member

SLIC is currently building an advisory board, to help the executive board with making decisions in light of the values and mission of the nonprofit. Responsibilities would include regular attendance of meetings - in person or virtual - and continued commitment to the community.
